I went to see one of my favourite bands,
Caribou, on the 1st of may. Daniel Snaith makes all the music himself, but live he's got an amazing band with him.
Daniel Snaith started making music under the name of Manitoba but was threatened to be sued by an american artist calling himself "Richard Handsome Dick Manitoba" so Snaith changed the name to Caribou.
He has released some great albums under the name of manitoba and amongst them one of my favourite songs "Skunks".
He then moved on releasing the critically acclaimed Andorra in 2007 and now the latest album Swim in 2010.
I was really looking forward to this gig since i've seen them once before and I must say, they really blew me away this time!
On stage were four men, three (or more?) keyboards, two drum kits, two guitars and a bass. With that also a flute and some electronic drum-pads and various fun samplers.
Snaith and his band blasted out a huge wall of sound throughout the whole set, i can't understand how these four guys can make this music even better live.
They also had visual effect in form of different psychedelic patterns projected on stage.
In conclusion, it was a psychedelic, high-tempo gig leaving me wanting more even after the encore song.

My favourite moments was when they played my favourite song,
Melody Day and the new single,
Odessa. I really missed two great songs, Sandy and Skunks.
If you want to hear more from Caribou i recommend to watch the
Pink Room Sessions on youtube and also the new album Swim.
